The School of Government and Public Administration at Eastside High School, in partnership with all stakeholders, instills in its students core values for academic excellence, leadership and responsible citizenship.

Students see Hamilton Performance

On Wednesday January 18 a group of 45 GoPA students and 4 teachers were able to attend a showing of Hamilton in New York City with all expenses paid. A front page article was in the Record on Thursday and expanded coverage, with a video, is on Northjersey.com.

Principal's Message

Welcome to the School of Government, recognized as One of the Best High Schools in the US by US News and World Report magazine.  As the Educational leader of this school, it is my pleasure to serve the needs of the students of the City of Paterson.  I invite you to visit this website and to personally visit my school.  I look forward to maintaining the standards of excellence and I expect that the 2017- 2018 school year will be a great year for students, staff, families and the administration of the Paterson Public School District.

All students are required to have a minimum of 125 credits to earn a diploma.

4 years of English (20 credits), 4 Years of Physical Education (3.75 credits/year) and Health (1.25 credits/year)

3 years of Mathematics (15 credits) -The credits are to include Algebra I and Geometry, and a third year of math that builds on the concepts and  skills of Algebra and Geometry and prepares students for college and 21st century careers.

3 years of Science (15 credits) to include Biology The credits are to include Lab Biology, Lab Chemistry and/or Physics and/or Environmental  Science; plus a third laboratory/inquiry-based science.

3 years of Social Studies (15 credits) The credits are to include World Cultures, US History I, and US History II.

2 years of World Language (10 credits), 1 year of Visual or Performing Arts (5 credits), 1 year of 21st Century Life and Careers/Practical Arts (5  credits) and 1 semester of Financial Literacy (2.5 credits)

In addition students must meet the threshold scores for PARCC or any of the other substitute assessments.

The last order for this school year has been placed. Expect orders to be taken again in October.  Click on the garment name to download a larger picture than seen in the slideshow to the left. 

Options: Fleece, Scoop-neck cardigan, V-neck cardigan, Varsity sweater, Varsity cardigan.

              There is a $2 charge for sizes XXL and up.

               Embroidery of names has a $5 charge.
